Bulletin B118.1 - Introducing Our New Assistant Director

Hello ALA Members,

It is with great pleasure that I share this announcement on behalf of the ALA Board of Directors. 

It is because of our athletes who are part of a greater community of lacrosse spread across our province that the ALA exists. We are here to serve the needs of those athletes, coaches, parents, and officials, and to do so in a way that creates value requires an amazing team of staff at the ALA Office level. As the office of the ALA grows, so does the value we can offer to all of our members and so with that in mind, we continue to pursue the hiring of top people at pivotal positions. Our latest such hire is that of an Assistant Director, Jillian Alexander.

Jillian is ecstatic to be joining the ALA and keen to hit the ground running. It has been a fast and furious start for Jillian as she and I work to understand how we can best serve our members and usher in a new era of cooperation, collaboration, and transparency from the ALA office.  

Originally from Victoria, BC, Jillian and her partner of 15 years have resided in Calgary since 2015. Jillian is passionate about lacrosse, about building community and culture, and about keeping a focus on transparent communications and partnership building.

She is excited to use her years of non-profit and sport and recreation administrative experience, as well as her playing and coaching experience, to help the ALA build a new vision and culture that supports our membership in mission-critical ways, while also keeping an eye on the future of our sport and how we can navigate the path to a new level of success across the province.  

As Assistant Director, Jillian will be tasked with a broad assortment of responsibilities including such things as office administration, building partnerships with our internal stakeholders such as our LGB Executive Directors, as well as helping to build a new culture for the ALA.

I know that Jillian will quickly become an invaluable member of our collective team.
