Staff Announcement

Dear ALA Members,

Upon the departure of the former ALA Executive Director back in September of 2022, the current Assistant Director, Jillian Alexander, took over as Interim Executive Director. We are pleased to announce that as of the November 2022 AGM, the interim tag was removed and Jillian has been promoted to the role of Executive Director.

While in her role as Assistant Director, Jillian demonstrated a consistently high level of job performance as well as an emerging ability to push the directives of the ALA forward.

As the Alberta Lacrosse Association as a whole continues the process of growing into an organization that better represents and supports its Members along with the increasingly more complicated lacrosse landscape, Jillian has proven herself to be willing and able to execute the short- and long-term roadmap of the ALA with a focus on the highest professional standards that includes using the tools of communication, collaboration, and transparency as core business values.

Not only an administrator, Jillian has also long been integrated in the lacrosse community as both a player and coach, and indeed continues to give her time, experience, and expertise back as an active coach.

Jessica Fredrickson: ALA Administrative Assistant

The ALA Executive is also pleased to announce the hiring of the Jessica Fredrickson as the ALA’s full-time Office Assistant.

Jessica is a results-focused, energetic, hands-on professional with experience in management, quality control, social media management, and customer service. Jessica’s formal education includes a Bachelor of Communication degree from MRC, and a Multimedia Design diploma from Sprott-Shaw College.

Jessica’s job description is broad but will fundamentally consist of supporting the day-to-day office administrative activities of the ALA.
