August 16–23, 2026

The Minto Cup, Canada’s national Junior A box lacrosse championship, is coming to Alberta this August 16–23, 2026, hosted by the Raiders in Calgary. First donated in 1901 by Lord Minto, then Governor General of Canada, the trophy carries more than a century of history and stands as one of the most prestigious prizes in lacrosse. Each year, the top Junior A teams from across the country compete for the national title, showcasing the next generation of elite talent.

Hosting the Minto Cup is a major moment for lacrosse in Alberta, bringing the country’s best players to Calgary and giving the local community a front-row seat to the highest level of Junior A competition. It’s more than just a tournament—it’s a celebration of the sport’s legacy and its future.

ALA’s Insurance Program

ALA’s insurance program helps ensure that players, coaches, officials, and volunteers can participate in lacrosse with confidence. Coverage is in place to support members in the event of accidents or injuries and to provide important liability protection for sanctioned activities. This program is a key part of creating a safe and secure environment across all levels of the game. Members are encouraged to review the full details of their coverage, including what is included, limitations, and how to submit a claim, by visiting the ALA Insurance.

New rulebook for 2026 play. Please review all documentation to understand the full complement of rules. It is also important to review your club, LGB, and ALA regulations for any other modifications. We are all learning as we head into the season, so please keep in mind that there will be some errors in application to start the season. We are hopeful that the short-term pain will lead to long-term gain for our sport.
