Proud to Support: The 2026 AFLA Alberta Lacrosse Celebration Weekend!

We are thrilled to help share and promote an incredible upcoming event from our friends at the Alberta Field Lacrosse Association (AFLA).
Mark your calendars for July 25–27, 2026, as AFLA hosts the first event of their brand-new 2026 AFLA Festival Series: The Alberta Lacrosse Celebration Weekend, taking place at Four Seasons Park in Sylvan Lake.
Central Alberta represents the vibrant heart of lacrosse in our province. By hosting their inaugural festival in Sylvan Lake, AFLA aims to unite the region's incredible lacrosse community for an unforgettable weekend of sport and camaraderie.
Unprecedented Action on the Field
Open to all divisions from U7 through U19, this AFLA-hosted tournament guarantees every registered team a minimum of 5 games plus playoffs—offering players more meaningful game-time in a single weekend than most get in half a season.
The Best of Both Worlds: Field & Box Integration
We love that AFLA believes players shouldn't have to choose between field and box lacrosse. This year, their festival runs in tandem with the Prairie Cup in Red Deer. AFLA has strategically aligned the game schedules so families can easily travel between both venues, and they will even be organizing bus transport to take players from the Sylvan Lake fields to the Red Deer arenas to cheer on their peers competing for Team Alberta.
AFLA would also like to extend a warm welcome to our traveling teams joining us from Manitoba and Saskatchewan!
A True Festival Experience
AFLA has designed this event to be a celebration for the entire family. On-site attractions at Four Seasons Park will include:
- A dedicated Lacrosse Farmers Market with local and national vendors
- Interactive skills competitions
- A diverse selection of food trucks
- Exclusive event merchandise and live music
More specific scheduling and registration details from AFLA will be released shortly. For now, please save the date. We look forward to seeing our community come together to support AFLA and celebrate the game this July!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: U17 Female Prairie Cup Program Cancellation
We regret to inform our lacrosse community that the U17 Female Prairie Cup tryouts scheduled for June 7th have been canceled, and the program will not run for the 2026 season.
Why This Decision Was Made
Recently, both Manitoba and Saskatchewan advised the Alberta Lacrosse Association (ALA) that they are unable to field U17 Female teams for this year's Prairie Cup.
Over the past month, the ALA exhausted every possible avenue to find replacement teams and explore alternative competition opportunities. Despite our best efforts to salvage the program, we have been unable to secure suitable opponents.
What This Means For Registered Athletes
Program Status: The U17 Female Prairie Cup program is officially canceled for 2026.
Refunds: All registered participants will receive a full refund. This will be processed automatically this week and returned to the original payment method used during registration.
A Note to Our Athletes: We understand how incredibly disappointing this news is for the athletes who were looking forward to competing and representing Alberta. This difficult decision was not made lightly, and we deeply appreciate your understanding as we worked through every possible option before reaching this conclusion.
If you have any questions regarding your refund or future programming, please contact the Alberta Lacrosse Association office.
