2020 North American Indigenous Games Information
The North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia from July 12-18, 2020.
NAIG TEAM ALBERTA BOX LACROSSE will consist of teams in the following categories:
- U16 MALE (Birth years 2004 & Later)
- U19 FEMALE (Birth years 2001 & Later)
- U19 MALE (Birth years 2001 & Later)
ATHLETE ELIGIBILITY
- Must be a Resident of Alberta
- Must be born of Aboriginal Ancestry. Athletes will be required to provide proof of Ancestry or Application Documentation, to show they are in the process of obtaining proof of Ancestry. (Eg. Status Card, Metis Card, First Nation Card, Treaty Card, Inuit and Inuvialuit Identification, Application Documents, etc.)
- Must be currently Registered in Local Lacrosse League
TEAM SELECTION PROCESS
Competitive tryouts are to be held at Four Nations Arena in Maskwacis, Alberta on the following dates:
- April 14, 2019 (10 AM - U19 Girls | 12 PM - U16 Boys | 2 PM - U19 Boys)
- Parent meeting to follow floor time
- June 16, 2019
- July 28, 2019
- August 9-10, 2019
Athletes are expected to attend all tryouts with Team selections made after tryouts are completed. Final Team selections will be the sole responsibility of the Coaching Staffs. All players selected to NAIG TEAM ALBERTA are expected to attend scheduled practices/games and maintain a level of fitness. Expect practices to be scheduled on Long weekends from April 2020- July 2020.
There will be an initial Tryout Registration fee of $75.00/Athlete. All Athletes must register and pay fees prior to participating in any tryouts.
These teams are sanctioned by the Indigenous Sports Council of Alberta (ISCA) with the Alberta Lacrosse Association as a supporting partner.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
All registrations will be coordinated through the Alberta Lacrosse Association.
