2026 Alberta Summer Games

 

The ALA is excited to share information on box lacrosse participation in the 2026 Alberta Summer Games. The Games will be held in Strathcona County July 16 - 19. There will be sixteen U15 teams from eight zones across the province.  Each zone will have both female only and co-ed teams competing.
Zones By Community

  Who Can Try Out?            
   
  • All players must be duly registered with the Alberta Lacrosse Association (ALA) as a player of U15 age with a box lacrosse club and listed on a team official registration form for the current year in the participating Alberta Games Zone. 
  • Athletes compete for the Zone in which they reside. 
  • Be registered for the 2026 box lacrosse season with their home club.
  • To be eligible, the player must have played a minimum of four (4) sanctioned games. 
  • Attend scheduled tryouts.
  Tryouts are scheduled and arranged by each Zone. Click the information link for your Zone below to see when tryouts are in your Zone.  

All scheduling and location inquiries should be directed to your local Zone contact.

Coach selection will be carried out by each zone. ALA will approve coach selection process and must approve all coaches and chaperones upon appointment to teams.
Each zone will be staffing the following:

 

  • Head Coach
  • Assistant Coach
  • Trainer/Chaperone

Applicants must meet ALA requirements (NCCP, Safe Sport, CRC/VSC).
All coaches and chaperones must be at least eighteen (18) years old by the start of the Alberta Games.

Steps to the Alberta Summer Games
Step 1 ALA posts program information.
Step 2 Applications for coaching are made to Zone representatives.
Step 3 Zone Representatives make coaching selections with input from the ALA Technical Team.
Step 4 Tryout dates published by Zone Representatives.
Step 5 Tryouts and Team Selections. There will be two tryouts in each zone. Teams will be selected by the team coaches with input from the Zone Representative and completed by June 12, 2026.
Step 6 Team training camps and practices.
Step 7 July 16-19-Alberta Summer Games!
