The Alberta Lacrosse Association is proud to send 10+ teams to the Prairie Cup, one of Western Canada’s premier regional lacrosse events. This high-level tournament is a key stepping stone for athletes on the pathway to advanced and national-level competition.
Registration is Open
In partnership with the Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association and the Manitoba Lacrosse Association, the ALA is proud to support a regional tournament that brings together top talent from across the Prairies. Aligned with LTAD pathways, the Prairie Cup delivers meaningful, high-calibre competition while expanding development opportunities for athletes throughout Alberta.
With multiple teams wearing Alberta colours, this event strengthens the province’s lacrosse pipeline—from grassroots participation to high-performance excellence—and sets the stage for athletes ready to compete on the national stage.

You can find it here: RMLL Intent to Play Registraton
Registration through the Intent to Play process is required for all players, staff, and executives for the 2026 season. Completing your Intent to Play with the ALA allows you to participate in all ALA-sanctioned activities throughout the season.
If you were not registered with the ALA during the previous season, an Intent to Play must be completed before taking part in any ALA member activities. This requirement applies to players, staff, and executives alike.
To ensure a smooth start to the season and avoid any potential eligibility issues, we encourage everyone to complete their Intent to Play as early as possible.

On January 22, 2026, Lacrosse Canada announced that the rules for box lacrosse would be changing. The new rules of box lacrosse in Canada will be the World Lacrosse Rules of Play with certain Age and Stage of Play Modifications set out by Lacrosse Canada. The new rules themselves were supplemented by a Playbook session hosted by representatives of Lacrosse Canada on January 25, 2026.
The ALA Board has met and considered some changes to its Regulations to implement the new rules. An ad hoc committee has been struck to consider further, more detailed changes in a few areas. Final revised regulations implementing the new rules are expected to be released by March 1, 2026.
The new rules represent a unified approach to ensuring that the same rules of box lacrosse are played across Canada, so that players, coaches, and officials have the same expectations for how the game is played in every province. The ALA is working on resources to explain the differences between the prior and new rules, so be on the lookout for announcements of additional learning opportunities about these changes.
