The ALA, in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association and the Manitoba Lacrosse Association, is proud to support a regional tournament designed to prepare athletes for the national stage. By aligning with the LTAD pathways, this initiative offers valuable regional competition and increased opportunities for athlete development across Alberta. With multiple teams representing the province, this collaboration strengthens both grassroots participation and high-performance growth.

Are Prairie Cup teams a part of Team Alberta? No. Prairie Cup is not under the envelope of Team Alberta. The ALA has committed to following the LTAD pathways, and we are proud to support this regional tournament. Offering the ability for regional competition, with multiple teams from Alberta, allows for greater development opportunities throughout our province, leading to growth for both the grassroots and high-performance streams.
How many practices will each team receive? Each team will be provided with a minimum of 4 floor times for practices.
What will the players receive for uniforms? Each player will receive a team jersey and shorts. 
Can teams fundraise for additional equipment or swag? No. Moderate fundraising will be approved for team building activities, which can include meals, extra floor times, etc.
Does the player fees cover transportation and accommodations? No. The ALA will provide a list of accommodations that have group rates. Teams have the option to book together or as individuals.
Will there be red shirts? No.
How will the teams be made? Geography will be a factor in team makeup, but the evaluation process will look to select the highest-rated players first, not by where they live.

Refund Policy Withdrawal during A try-out: A tryout fee 100% non-refundable.
Withdrawal due to injury: will be prorated based on date of withdrawal Credit card refunds are completed within 72 hours; from the date the Team Alberta Coordinator receives the withdrawal notice.
Prairie Cup Head Coach Information Qualifications Overview
What follows are some, but not all, of the required and optional skill-sets and credentials that the successful candidate will posses.
- Proven coaching history, with high level background, including minimum 3 years coaching experience.
- Proven track record of leadership in sport.
- Proven knowledge of lacrosse in your chosen discipline.
- Proven ability to understand game management, adjustments, time/score/situation.
- Proven ability to utilize assistant coaches and resources available successfully.
- Must be competitive-introduction certified for the competition.
- Must have no outstanding or past disciplinary issues and be a member in good standing.
